01 Your home & heat pump

This calculator starts at 1.5 tons. Use eligible heating capacity at 8.3°C / 47°F, not the cooling-size label. Decimals are welcome. An approximate size gives an approximate result.

You can still check your federal income tier. Your HRS estimate will wait for sizing confirmation.

02 Your federal income tier

Use your 2025 tax return: line 23600 minus line 43500. Add the same calculation for your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable. Do not upload your tax return or SIN.

03 A few eligibility checks

HRS approval must come before installation, even though the new federal program allows qualifying retroactive applications.

Not sure about a screening answer? Leave it as “Not sure yet.” We will flag it for confirmation, not assume you qualify.

An estimate, not an approval.

The higher federal tier is up to $10,000. The final cost-based formula is not yet published, so this tool shows a potential maximum—not an exact award.

Combined funding cannot exceed eligible heat-pump supply and installation costs. Other incentives may reduce it. Do not subtract this estimate from a quote as a guaranteed discount.

Before relying on an estimate

Heat pumps installed on or after November 1, 2026 may qualify for the new federal rebate, subject to program eligibility. Earlier installations do not qualify for the new federal rebate; HRS eligibility is checked separately. You must meet each program’s home, ownership, equipment, contractor and application rules. This assumes a qualifying Ontario home, a purchased whole-home cold-climate air-source system, and no conflicting incentives. HRS requires written pre-approval before installation. The federal portal is expected early 2027; no payment is guaranteed before approval. Rentals and ground-source systems are outside this estimator.
