A cold-climate heat pump can heat and cool your home with one electric system. Central equipment can work through suitable existing ductwork, while ductless mini-splits create room-by-room zones without adding a full duct system. The right design depends on the home’s heat loss, electrical service, layout, insulation, current fuel and the role of backup heat.
Baseboard-heated homes often suit a ductless zone-by-zone plan, while an oil or propane furnace home may support a central or hybrid design. We review the existing distribution system instead of assuming every property needs the same conversion.
Ontario’s Home Renovation Savings Program currently lists an incentive of $1,250 per ton, up to $7,500, for an eligible owned cold-climate air-source heat pump in a qualifying home primarily heated by electricity, oil, propane or wood. Program, property, equipment, contractor, pre-installation and grid-connection requirements apply. Rebates are administered by third parties and are not guaranteed by Infinite Home Comfort.
